“Watch out!” When the co-driver is actively monitoring the traffic situation, his warning can help the driver to avoid a critical situation.
Unfortunately a co-driver is not always on board or concentrated enough in order to inform the driver in time just before a quick steering input is needed.
Bosch offers a “passenger” with foresight and dependability who can provide sound advice. It is the compact Camera/ECU device which can provide support in critical driving situations with the help of a multi function video display assistance module.
- Lane departure detection: The unintentional departure from the lane monitored by the camera results in a warning signal to the driver. With the active lane departure functionality, the steering is also actively corrected.
- Road sign detection: Road signs are detected by the camera and shown on the video display. The driver is assisted by cognition and rating of the traffic, especially in driving situations which require higher advertence.
- Intelligent low/high beam operation: This function helps increase night time visibility. Depending on oncoming traffic, use of the high beams as well as light intensity is optimized.
- Object detection: In order to support the radar based autonomous safety functions like panic brake activation, the object detection helps to monitor the driving situation.
- Drowsy Driver detection: Typical reactions resulting from driver fatigue are analyzed and detected. A warning signal is then delivered to the fatigued driver.
