ACC – Adaptive Cruise Control
Maintain your distance
„Traffic backups and congestion on certain routes...“, the news from the radio is not ideal. The driver will be encountering stop and go traffic. Continuous drive off, braking, idling, etc.
For such driving conditions on back roads and highways, Bosch offers a specific solution designed to eliminate frustration and increase comfort. The radar based driver assistance system called ACC – Adaptive Cruise Control automatically controls the distance to the vehicle ahead: A long distance radar monitors the area ahead of the vehicle and also detects distance, direction as well as relative speed to the vehicle. With this input, it calculates the required deceleration/acceleration in order to maintain the appropriate distance.
There are specific options that can be set-up for ACC:
- ACC: Speed range for enablement: 30 to 200 kph
- ACC Stop and go: Speed range for enablement:
0 to 200 kph, the approval to drive off is requested from the driver.
ACC does not only relieve the driver from his routine chores of maintaining and controlling speed, it also aids in increasing traffic safety by setting up and maintaining larger distances between vehicles.
