Cold Area

Cold Area

Our cold area can be regulated to temperatures
between minus 35°C and plus 30°C. This is where
exhaust-gas tests at minus 7°C and plus 10°C as
well as cold starts are mainly carried out.

Vehicle-specific adaptations of on-board diagnostics
functions and program-map parameterization in the
low temperature range can also be carried out here.
Start-up and warm-up adaptations, temperature
measurements of components and the investigation
of the general low-temperature behavior round out
the services offered.

Cold boxes

Eight cold boxes are available in the cold area for the
pre-tempering and individual preparation of the vehicles
for their tests. Two of the boxes have integral exhaust-gas extraction so that cold tests can also be carried out outside
the roller-type dynamometers.

Low-temperature conditioning
Vehicles reach our cold area through the vehicle lock.
Fueling and defueling can be carried out on the spot
with six different types of fuel. So pre-tempered vehicles
need not leave the cold area for these operations.
